CreativeRx Expressive Arts Workshops

Expressive Arts & Somatics

Summer of 2026

Workshop Description

CreativeRx Expressive Arts Workshops are drop-in experiences for anyone ready to explore their inner world through creative expression — held in a trauma-informed, supportive container.

No artistic background needed. No product to produce. Each workshop gathers around a theme and opens a space where movement, writing, visual art, sound, and somatic practice weave together into something you didn't know you were looking for.

This is a small, intimate format — capped at twelve participants — allowing for individualized guidance, supportive presence, and a deeply personal experience.

Workshop Emphasis

These aren't art classes. They're portals.

A place to express what's been waiting, explore what's unknown, and birth something entirely your own. Creativity as medicine — the kind you didn't know you needed.

You arrive as you are. You leave with whatever you made, and whatever made you. Each workshop is a complete experience in itself — no series commitment required.

What Shifts in an Afternoon

You Walk In You Walk Out
Disconnected from your creative voice Reconnected — through movement, mark-making, and sound
Stuck in your head, looping Settled in your body, present
Intuition feels quiet or far away Inner signals feel close again
Unsure how to access what's underneath Equipped with practices you can return to
Carrying something you can't quite name Held space to feel it, express it, and release

Why This Works:

  • Expressive arts bypass thinking and reach what words can't

  • Somatic work anchors you back into the body so feelings become safe

  • Trauma-informed pacing prevents overwhelm

  • A drop-in format honors where you are in life, right now

  • Small-group structure ensures personalized attention

  • Creative space, clinically held — the rare combination

The Shape of a Workshop

A single afternoon, three movements.

  1. Arrive & Settle

We begin with grounding — a brief somatic practice, the theme introduced, agreements named. You don't need to come ready. You only need to come.

  2. Move Through the Threads

The body of the workshop weaves between movement, writing, art-making, and sound. Each invitation builds on the last. Skip what doesn't feel right — consent is built in.

  3. Integrate & Close

Time to witness what arose, in pairs or solo, and a closing ritual to mark the return.

Trauma-Informed, by Design

Every element of these workshops is held by a clinically-informed framework: choice, pacing, consent, titration. The facilitator is trained in somatic and expressive arts modalities and stays attuned to nervous-system safety throughout.

This is creative space — not therapy. But it's shaped by someone who knows the difference between catharsis and overwhelm, and designs accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. These workshops are designed for all people — whether you identify as creative or not. The practices awaken natural expression, expand intuitive awareness, and deepen body-based understanding that everyone has access to.

  • No. These are creative workshops, not therapy. They offer experiential tools, somatic practices, and creative exploration that support personal growth in a structured and trauma-informed way — but they do not replace therapeutic treatment.

  • Only if you want to. You are always invited, never required, to share. This space honors your boundaries and supports expression at your comfort level.

  • No. This is not a cathartic healing immersion. While there are moments of depth, everything is paced, titrated, and grounded.

  • No experience is necessary. You will be guided through each invitation step-by-step.

  • That's the design. Each workshop is fully standalone. Drop in to one, all of them, or anything in between — many participants come to the workshop whose theme speaks to where they are in life.

  • Please reach out. There's no formal sliding scale, but if cost is the only thing standing between you and the work, I'd rather know than have you stay home. Email mary@levapsych.com.

Last year was my first hypnosis experience that incorporated expressive arts and vibrational sound healing with Mary . This was the first time my brain was quiet in my entire life! After that experience, l started my journey to pursue rest of training in all modalities that Mary teaches which are gentle and exploratory while also incredibly powerful when put into practice. What I love about her approach is the softer and gentler side of the work I completed with her including ... nature art, bilateral drawing and movements, and vibrational work. It was how we focused on the calming of the nervous system in contrast to uprooting or intense catharsis. Her modalities and my 1:1 training with her allowed me to be a completely different person from a year ago. I really learned the integration piece of inner child healing and emotional work, and what calms my nervous system and I learned the expressive practices calmed me. In fact, my coworkers, patients and children noticed my affect is calmer than it has ever been in my past.
